Taking memories, and leaving footprints...

June 9, 2019

So, today we bid a fond farewell to Mr John "the lips.... Delipps" after 9 years with the band. John moves on to concentrate fully on his other band and the music he loves, with the Cream and Hendrix-laden Freak Flag. And we would like to take this opportunity to wish him all the best with his future endeavours. A founder Smokin' Mojos member, John's basslines have been patterning the backline of the Mojos from day one, from the very first notes of "Crossroads", "Wishing Well", "She Caught The Katy", "Come Together" and "What's The Frequency, Kenneth?" played at the first rehearsal back in the Autumn of 2010. And as the saying goes, all good things come to an end, so there's no better way to illustrate this moment, than with the photo of John that sticks in the memory most from the Mojos library... And here's to your psychedelic rockin' ahead, watch out Woodstock!! We end this with a quote from Jimi Hendrix himself: “The story of life is quicker than the wink of an eye, the story of love is hello and goodbye...until we meet again
